Building bars and bar programs is an amazing exercise in User experience. In late 2018, I got the chance to work on a fresh renovation, in a neighborhood trying to turn a corner, with some of the best culinary artists in town. An art deco bank turned upscale full service complete with it’s own speakeasy bar in a downstairs bank vault. This stunning space needed cocktails and programming to match. Nothing was off the table. With an in-depth gin library, we were known for exceptional martini service paired with nightly menu changes. It could be a raw bar on a Tuesday, to a country steak confit the next. Unique programming brought a bit of panache beyond typical dinner service. On any given day you could experience live music, art shows, burlesque and drag performances, and the equally dramatic, brunch service.
