Marsha Brown
It's always Marsha! Marsha! Marsha!
Wrought iron. Stained glass. Gumbo. There is no better place to experience true, New Orleans style southern cuisine than in a church in New Hope, Pennsylvania. What some might view as sacrilege, others, such as myself saw the ample opportunity to play with cherubs. While other web sites were trying to figure out how to slice images into a table to make it look half decent, we at 160 were having fun playing with textures and animating hand-drawn illustrations. This site was a personal favorite as I experimented with loading multiple “grunged” photographs and layered them in fanciful ways to conceal loading times. It was an artful dodge to help set a whimsical experience that one faces when visiting the actual restaurant, a converted church house whose ornate character mirrored that of Marsha Brown herself. They have since changed over to a more html friendly experience, as most should, but you can check out the original Marsha Brown site here.
