The Cincinnati Ignite have a fabulous section called ‘Ignite Karaoke’, or the more fitting title of ‘Ignite Improv.’ While the format of presentation is still the same (20 slides, 5 minutes) there is one very complex twist. The presenter has no idea what the slides are about. Of the multiple Ignites I have attended, these are generally accepted as train wrecks. Five minutes of moderate torture for the audience and what one could perceive as a very public seppuku by the performer. Well, I suppose my friends got tire of me saying, “Oh I could do that” as I was nominated to take it on for Ignite Cincy 9, with the small caveat that if it does not go well, this could very well be the last. Pressure.
